Privacy Policy

Effective date: 15 October 2026
Last updated: 15 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected, used, and disclosed in connection with the Cadence mobile application (the "App").

Please read this Policy carefully. By downloading or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood it.

1. Data controller

The App is provided by an individual developer ("we", "us", "our") acting as the data controller in respect of personal data processed through the App.

For any matter relating to this Policy or to your personal data, contact: privacy@cadencegym.app

Notification delivery records (notification category, time sent, whether opened)Evaluation and improvement of the App's notification scheduling
An account identifier, which may be anonymousAssociation of the above with your account

Attendance records do not contain geographic coordinates. The App records that attendance occurred and its duration. It does not record the location at which it occurred.

2.3 Data we do not collect

The App contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking software. We do not collect exercise detail (including sets, repetitions, weights, or calories), contacts, photographs, device identifiers for advertising purposes, or any record of your movements beyond that described in section 3.

3. Location data

The App requests authorisation to access your location, including when the App is not in use ("Always" authorisation on iOS; background location access on Android). This authorisation is necessary for the App's principal function.

The App registers a geographic region around the gym you specify with the operating system of your device. The operating system notifies the App when your device enters or exits that region. The App receives entry and exit events only. It does not poll your location, does not record your position over time, and does not construct a location history.

The App additionally obtains your device's current position on a single occasion while the home screen is displayed, for the sole purpose of centring the map shown on that screen. That position is retained in volatile memory for the duration of the screen's display and is neither stored nor transmitted.

If "Always" authorisation is withheld, attendance cannot be detected automatically.

4. Lawful bases for processing

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we rely on the following lawful bases:

5. Disclosure to third parties

Personal data is disclosed only to the following categories of recipient, and only to the extent necessary:

We do not sell personal data, do not disclose personal data to data brokers, and do not use personal data for advertising purposes.

Personal data may be stored or processed outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Where that occurs, we rely on the safeguards implemented by the relevant provider, including standard contractual clauses where applicable.

6. Retention

Personal data is retained for as long as your account remains active.

Upon deletion of your account, all associated data is erased from our systems immediately and irreversibly, and data held locally on your device is cleared.

Accounts that remain anonymous and inactive may be deleted without notice.

Uninstalling the App without deleting your account removes the local copy of your data only; data held on our systems is unaffected.

7. Your rights

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, you have the right to request access to, rectification of, or erasure of your personal data; to request restriction of processing; to object to processing; and to request portability of your data. You may also withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

The erasure right may be exercised directly within the App: select Delete account on the account screen. Other requests may be addressed to privacy@cadencegym.app.

If you consider that your data has been processed unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (www.ico.org.uk) or your local supervisory authority.

8. Security

Data transmitted between the App and our infrastructure is encrypted in transit. Access to stored data is restricted at the database level such that records are accessible only to the account to which they belong.

No method of transmission or storage is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and it will be deleted.

10. Changes to this Policy

This Policy may be amended from time to time. Where an amendment materially affects the categories of data collected or the purposes of processing, the effective date above will be updated and notice will be given within the App before the amendment takes effect.

11. Contact

Enquiries and requests relating to this Policy should be addressed to privacy@cadencegym.app.
